 The Venice of the North…

With its 17th century Golden Age canals, sheltering some of the prominent museums in the world such as Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum, Hermitage Amsterdam, the Anne Frank House, the Amsterdam Museum, housing the best known red-light district in the world – De Wallen, possessing many cannabis coffee shop, and of course having an deep bicycle culture, Amsterdam is a true gem and one of the most preserved cities in Europe…

Once you arrive in Amsterdam, forget about driving around and roll up your sleeves to look for a bicycle shop to rent a bike. In most stores, you may get rates from 10 Euros a day. Comparing to the experience and enjoyment you get while riding your bike between canals, old narrow European streets, it is totally worth every penny. You may park (lock) your bike pretty much almost everywhere. Just make sure, there are no signs that indicate you cannot leave your bike there.

I spent about two days in Amsterdam during November. Although its popular season July and August, if you want to avoid the crowds, unless you mind getting some wet since it may rain a bit more often at November in Amsterdam, I highly suggest there to visit during fall.
