Medieval Streets…
If you have limited time in Belgium and are struggling to find a place to visit, Bruges must be your first choice. A Unesco World Heritage City, outstanding example of an architectural design with its old buildings and canals, Bruges still houses a distinct medieval air.
I took the picture on a rainy Bruges evening, across Gruuthuse Hof te Brugge. The restaurant is located very close to Church of Our Lady Bruges which enshrines a very unique art treasure, a white marble sculpture of the Madonna and Child (Madonna of Bruges) created by Michelangelo around 1504.
The sun is setting over this medieval historic settlement on a chilly November night. And the aged buildings and streets have surrendered themselves to gentle touchings of the last sun rays of the day…
